Default DIY Crankshaft/SC Pulley Upgrade

Hi all,
Does anyone out there have the dimensions (AutoCAD, or technical drawing) for an upgraded pulley. Either the Mina Gallery or Velocity AP, etc. whichever is fine.
I'm thinking of getting it manufactured instead of buying one.
Any ideas?

Hey all,
Since no one is responding to this, maybe someone might have the specs (AutoCAD) for the OEM pulley to the supercharger?
Thanks guys

Do you mean crank pulley or SC pulley?

Hey,
I'm looking for the outer crank pulley, the one that goes to the SC.
I know a guy who's got his own machining shop and he can do this for me.

I can measure a 4.0, 4.2 and 5.0 SC V8 for you but don't know if they are the same.

Hey Kansanbrit,

That would be awesome.
The pulley off the 5.0 SC is exactly the same.

Last case scenario, I was thinking of removing my pulley, measure it out and creat and AutoCAD drawing then add 15% to the outer diameter and my friend machine a new one.

Thanks a lot for your help, you're saving some work getting mine out.

Whoops, I should have replied earlier, I have my stock OEM pulley in my hot little hand as I type.
Off a 2014 (Oct 2014 build) MY 2015 F-Type V6S.
The older silver pulley as opposed to the newer black pulley, the change over was some time in 2015/2016 apparently but no-one knows exactly when or the VIN cut-off.
AFIAK they differ slightly in one or two inside measurements, mainly and maybe only the "offset" of the ribs to the mounting surface (which effects how far the pulley sticks out) but the diameter of the ribs is the same.

Anyway, the measurements of my pulley are:

Central hole diameter 55 mm
Outer rim (overall diameter) 165 mm
Inner rim (rib diameter) 104 mm
Outer thickness (width at widest point) 47.2 mm
Rib width 32 mm
Offset (from inside of the mounting plate face to outside edge of pulley) 35 mm
Mounting plate thickness 3 mm
Mounting holes 6
Mounting hole PCD (pitch centre diameter) 78 mm
Rib count 7 (not including 1/2 rib each side)
Rib spacing/width approx 4 mm.

Sorry no diagram but I have no clues with drawing or graphic art, if you post up a diagram or two with numbered markings I might be able to add measurements to them!

OzXFR,

That is the exact same one as I have.
It's silver with a black ring along the outer edge, which is the harmonic balancer, just like in the picture.

I'll make up a simple drawing to see if I got all the measurements correct and please correct any you see aren't right.
Once we're happy with the final result I'll take it to my guy to see what he says.

DIY all the way baby!!!

My bad, I didn't read your original request properly - that you were after CAD specs or a technical drawing - and I wrongly assumed that you were after simple measurements which of course you could make yourself with the pulley in hand, and I made another assumption that your pulley was still on the car so too hard to get the measurements you want.
And yes your pulley is exactly the same as mine.

Actually you're right, mine is still on the car. I would rather not have to take it off for measurements.
I'm actively looking for one on eBay, but they're a bit expensive.
I'll draw up something preliminary and share it to get everyone's input.

I don't want to make waves here, because I understand it's part of their business (the suppliers of these upgraded pullies) and I'll be bypassing that by making my own.
Having said that, a large part of these forums is all about modifications and DIY, so why not go a step further and also get my own pulley done...???
Agreed?

Surely it will cost a small fortune to get a single unit made, cheaper to buy one?

Did you see they are heavily discounted currently?

Yeah, I saw that, but it's still around 700 Euros + shipping.
Doing it my way, it'll cost me the price of an aluminum block and buy the guy how's going to do it, a lunch.

Hey all,

OK, so here it goes. A very simple, preliminary drawing of the original pulley and another with the 15% increase in diameter like the Paramount and Viezu pulleys.

I just ended up buying one on eBay instead of removing mine just for this.

If you'd like to see one with a different size, I can do that too.
If anyone sees something wrong here, any kind of comment at all, let me know.
For now, I'll post the PDF, but I can also share the AutoCAD dwg file to anyone who wants to change an re-share.

This is not the final version, I still need to add a few more dimensions and clean it up a bit.

Next step is to buy an aluminium disc 50mm thick x 200mm diameter and take it to a machine shop with the OEM pulley and the drawing.

One thing I don't have yet is the 8PK belt, but that shouldn't be too difficult to find.

I have another request.
Anyone who has the Viezu or Paramount crankshaft pulley installed, can you share the size of the belt?

Because I'm having a pulley manufactured at a 15% increase, I'd like to have the belt already purchased before I star the conversion.

Thanks

How about the size of this idler pulley???

Anyone know the size? I'm going to replace it with a flat one (so I can use a one sided 8PK belt), but I need a part number or dimensions. (I am away from my car).

I also have that OEM idler pulley sitting in a box in my garage.
Outer diameter 94 mm, rib diameter 88 mm, outer width 32 mm, rib width 26 mm.

That's freaking awesome man, thanks.
I can order an idler pulley and have everything on hand when I start.

I found 2 options on the Dayco site.
Both are 90mm x 30mm, but the difference is the centre bore. Either 12mm or 17mm.
I'm thinking 12mm is too small. That would be an M10 bolt.
Can you confirm the bolt is a M16? That would make the 17mm a perfect fit.
