Default Do NOT buy Duralast rotors/pads

What a garbage they are.

I had replaced my front rotors with them and car has been having vibrations since. They didn't have the balance marks on them. Also, i had trouble with the front pads as they wouldn't actually fit the bracket, therefore had to modify them to make them fit.

I had also ordered the ones for the rears. They had just come in and i open the box to inspect them only to find out there is absolutely no quality control on them. The outter part of the disc didn't have the same thickness as the inner part of the rotor. As i spun it in my hand, i saw the outer disc going from thin to thick while the inner one went from thick to thin. And, the rear pads were more than 1/4 taller than the surface of the rotors.

I thought they were made in USA, but nope. Should have stuck to OEM parts. Having them replaced with OEM rotors and pads in few days.

That stinks about your experience. In the past I have actually had really good success with the Duralast Gold variant pads. They were a favorite in the EVO / STi communities. The lifetime warranty is nice too, once they wear out you can bring them back for a free replacement. Similar stopping power to other Brembo caliper-matched pads / OEM pads with less and lighter colored dusting.

That's actually one of the reasons why i bought them, because some of my car enthusiast friends have used them in the past without any issues. And, the lifetime warranty made it even more attractive.

I have put about 400 miles on them and i still don't like the delayed bite like my OEMs had. Even with grooved rotors and worn out pads, the car actually stopped better. I thought as the pads wore off on the surface of the rotor, the bite would have gotten better, but it hasn't by much.

The way the rear rotors were cut really blew my mind. Two incomplete uneven surfaces, never seen anything produced with such terrible quality parameters.

Bummer man!! I would return those for sure and get what you know works!

What other brand options do we really have for our cars? I'm sure this has been posted somewhere already, but I would also prefer a pad that doesn't dust as much as the OEM pads

Thanks! The rears i gave back already as i wasn't going to put them on. I was thinking about taking the fronts off and return them, but i am having the dealer do the job and i am so unhappy that i want those things dumped into a dumpster.

I always like to stick with OEM parts, i went against my judgement and now i regret it.

In the "How To" write up, Edobering said he was very happy with Centric rotors and EBC pads, which
don't provide too much dust. You can try those out, lots of guys on here run EBC i believe.
