2011 XFR.

Anyone have little white dots on the roads shown on the nav screen?? Some are evenly spaced where others are in groups of two. Enquiring minds need to know.

 

I've wondered the same...

 

The Nav screen is tracing your steps. Areas you travel more often will have way more dots. I think you can turn it off. It's "bread crumbs" so you can find your way back if you get lost.

 

This has happened a couple of times on my 09. Lasted a few weeks each time, as I remember. I don't remember whether the dots were white, but there was no logic to the number or pattern of dots, whether on roads I travelled, or highways, or rural roads with no traffic, etc. And I don't remember when they stopped each time, possibly when a new DVD was installed, or when there was a CEL service. I found it curious also, but have not seen it for a while. Although it will probably start again tomorrow.

 

Ah hah! I believe I have more information on the dots...

I was poking around in the destination screen today and I noticed "Trace Route" was highlighted (Blue). Lo and behold, when I turned that off, the trail of white dots disappeared.

 

Did anyone read my response? That's what I said it was....
