My 2014 XF car beeps twice when locking with key fob, Drivers door is not locking although the alarm is set. Any ideas of the problem

 

does the door lock when you press the interior lock button?
does the door lock when you press on the door lock itself from the interior?

my car was doing the same exact thing, it wouldnt fully lock. sprayed some lubrication into the locking mechanism from the interior door handle, worked like a charm

I just experienced the exact problem with my 2015 XF 3.0 SC. At first it was doing the double beep thing intermittently but after a couple of weeks it happened every time.

I took car to dealer since it is still under warranty. They diagnosed the problem as being a defective driver's door lock motor. They had the parts in stock and replaced the defective motor and I have had no further problems with double beeping since this work was done.

The job took about 2-3 hours and I understand that the inner door panel and even glass need to be removed. Everything was put back beautifully and this problem has not surfaced again in the two weeks since repair was made.

Overall, a good dealership experience. I have no idea what the out of warranty cost would be since my job was covered by factory warranty. Good luck!
