Default Alarm Question

Howdy Forum!
I have a 2017 F-Type Convertible. Question... On the 'Vehicle Settings' I have Audible Alarm Setting 'checked' on on the instrument panel menu. When I lock doors there is no audible indicator... I do get the double beep for a mislock. If I turn it off there is nothing different. Does anyone know what, if anything this actually does?
Thanks!

I have tried it with both... does yours 'chirp' when locked? Is this a feature that is disabled by dealer?

Is 'Double Lock' still an active feature in the US on F-types?

There is no double locking in 2016 models. This means you can always unlock the doors from the inside. My BMW would double lock the doors so you could never unlock them except with the key or fob. Very desired in a convertible.

I believe that on my 2014, there's a menu option to enable double locking. The manual makes no mention of what double locking does, but we've discussed it pretty extensively before.
