Default Drive Shaft Play

My 2013 XF AWD has a quarter inch, maybe more, of in-out slop in the front drive shafts (cv joints). Is this normal? The rears have no play at all.

I have always had too much vibration through the steering wheel on the OEM 20s so I finally bought a set of 19s for a smoother ride. However now I have a large shake back and forth in the steering wheel above 45 mph. They scored excellent on the road force balance (2 and 4) so the shop said I should ask for a new set of front tires from Pirelli since there must be something wrong they can't see. Before I go through that I checked all of the suspension and the drive shafts are the only thing I can come up with.

Yes I installed them all myself this last time. I just need to know if the front drive shaft play is normal before I send the tires back.
