On my last Jaguar the drivers seat moved backwards/forwards when the door was opened
I've just bought a brand new 2019 XF and this does not happen.
Have Jaguar discontinued this feature?

not super familiar with your newer model, but i'd guess similar to the older x250 - the purpose is to ease entry and exit. did your last jaguar's steerign wheel move or just the seat? it's possible that they've change the strategy - my 2010 model's steering wheel moves if i activate the feature as such

 

Don't know your last car but guessing it was an s-type. The xf series don't have the moving seats on entry/exit. Only the steering wheel raises now.

 

the new XF does not have the seat moving feature.

 

If you're the only driver of the car do what I do.

Seat memory position #1: Set to my preferred driving position.
Seat memory position #2: Seat all the way back.

My XJ40 had the automatic entry/exit driver's seat. It was a nice feature.
