Default ECU reset?

I installed new MAF sensors and want to clear a code as well as the long term fuel trims so the ECU can "re-learn" but am having trouble finding a definitive answer at far as HOW you achieve this.

Some people say disconnect the battery... some say that won't work.

Can someone clarify what's involved? This is for a 2011 XFR.

How do you know you have a code?
Are you using a code reader?
If you are, can you use that reader to clear the code?
I have an iCarsoft i930 which is great for reading and clearing codes.
Otherwise, you have nothing to lose by disconnecting the battery for a short time (other than Trip A and Trip B and needing to reset the one-touch windows) so why not give it a try.

Dealership pulled the code -- it's related to MAF and they recommended replacing MAF's. Bought aftermarket ones since they were half of what the dealer is charging. Replacing them is stupid easy, but I want to clear the code as well as the fuel trims so it can re-learn based on data from new MAFs.

I'm more concerned with resetting fuel trims than clearing the code...

I reckon after a few runs with new MAF sensors the ECU will reset the fuel trims anyway without any code clearing or reset needed. Again, nothing to lose by giving it a go.
Get yourself a decent code reader so you can check if the code is gone or not (the residual code might still be there in which case just clear it), and also to check the fuel trims. The iCarsoft i930 reads ST and LT fuel trims in real time.

It'll relearn.

OBD can clear codes. Battery clears fuel trims.

(OE diag tool can also clear fuel trims.)

Codes self-clear if fault fixed (takes 3 warm ups).
