Default electrical riddle: 12v socket and now seat not working

Hello,

Timeline of events:
Saturday:

Used 12v socket in armrest to power a 12v air pump to add air to a rear wheel to shut up the TPMS.

Throughout this, the door was mistakenly shut on the power cord for this pump, shutting the pump down. Also, this caused the 12v socket to stop working.

Checked and replaced fuse (engine compartment fuse for 12v socket) although it did not seem to be broken. 12v socket still did not work, gave up for the day

Today:
heard report from the usual driver of the car that the 12v socket still did not work. Went out to investigate and could not operate the power seat up down backward forward (although the lumbar pump was still working)

checked fuse for the drivers seat, looks ok

have checked voltage is was around 14.7 so the battery and alternator seem to be doing their job.

anyone have any theories or experiences with similar issues?

thank you

car details:
2009 XF 4.2 v8 around 45k miles

How are you checking the fuses? Looking at them doesn't always do it.

Whatever works for you, but smart people use a meter or swap fuses into combinations they know should work.

Many bad fuses don't look bad.

This has finally been resolved, I thought about the socket yesterday and looked again.

Using the fusebox image on this thread:https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...cation-105288/

I replaced item #28, which I found to be non-operational, and now the 12v console socket is back on line.

The seat randomly started working again a few months ago. Go figure with Jaguar electronics...

Thanks,

Cole

Glad you sorted it out.
Just about everyting electrical is controlled by the BCM. Maybe the seats were sorted out by another issue with a BCM correction.
