does anyone know how I can enable entering of addresses into the navigation while I am driving? even if its something as simple as allowing me to enter previous destinations.

For activating NAV entry while driving need to update CCF file.

 

While it will not allow address entry while moving (it will at a red light), you can select a route to home and to 5 pre-programmed destinations even while moving.

 

What's wrong with stopping to enter addresses safely
so that you are not a threat to the safety of others?

Entering addresses on a touchscreen is even more
complex and distracting than trying to mouth a
series of digits into a cell phone.

The restriction is there for a very good reason.

 

It would be nice if a passenger could enter the address while you are driving

 

I need to do some more research and get myself familiar with this process. I used to do this all the time in my BMW, reprogrammed the whole car. doing the same to my Jag should be a piece of cake

while you are right, its still an inconvenience when I have a passenger who can input the address for me. To take it one step further, the lock out disables me from selecting previous destinations, which is no more complicated than selecting options on the radio. I understand the need for the lockout, but some features should be enabled, or at least enabled if you have a passenger
