I have a 2012 XF Jaguar purchased in the US.

I have moved with it to Portugal

The US oriented navigation system does not know where it is .

How can I get the European map navigation system and how can I install it?

Welcome to the forum avabrantes,

You will have to replace the US Navigation DVD with the European DVD for Portugal. The European update is a four disc set from Jaguar although there are other 'unofficial' sources.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see.

In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

You may need more than disks as regional coding on the CDs may prevent your car from playing them. I would check with the dealer, see if they will let you try out the new disks before you buy them. You may need a software modification to the nav unit.

CD or DVD discs are not used by the 2012 Nav system. It is updated via a USB flashdrive. Suggest you contact Jaguar UK or a local dealer to determine what may have to be done, if anything, to make the Nav system compatible for a European update.

So it is.

Updates for the earlier DVD system are expensive. This one could need a second mortgage!

In the US, an update flashdrive is $300 plus tax the last time I checked.
