Could any of you help me out and see if your vehicle reports the VIN number to your scan tool.
I have a 2011 XF and three different scan tools do not report the Manufacturer or VIN number. I am beginning to think that this might be typical for Jaguar, at least the later models. I called Innova, (maker of one of the tools I have, 3130b tool) and they said they are seeing this more and more with late models. (manufacturer not storing VIN in the ECM)

 

I've got two different scan tools and both report my VIN.
One is a basic cheapy, the other is much more comprehensive and expensive.

 

Which scan tools do you guys have and how much are they?

 

The real question, is who makes a good scan tool that can also be used for programming the modules of the XF?
