OK, dealer says that pillar isn't sold by itself. They only sell it attached to the rear fixed quarter glass and he doesn't know if it separates from the glass. The part is $300+, of course I can get it Ebay,
I checked the shop manual and you have to take the rear door apart (inside door panel, the silver trim that goes all the way around the outside) and take out the fixed glass. It's do-able.
So, what do you guys think about getting the chrome overlays for the pillar as pictured?

Yep, that is a solution I was going to suggest.
I went for lots of extra chrome bling on my old 2010 XFS including a set of those pillar pieces.
They are relatively cheap and they look good but are not to everyone's taste.
But be warned once you commit and stick them on they stick like s**t to a blanket and they ain't ever coming off, at least not without ruining the gloss black OEM finish underneath.
Also you need to be very careful lining them up in the exact right spots before you peel the tape off the backs and position them, so do lots of "test fits" first to work out exactly where they go as there is about 2 mm leeway up/down and side to side.
Could you just wrap the black cracked pillar in gloss black?
OH !!! You mean a vinyl wrap ... now why didn't I think of that? Hmmm, hopefully the crack doesn't make an impression. I'm going to buy some and try it ... THANKS !!!

Yes - exactly. Vinyl wrap. As long as gloss black I suspect it will look the same. Unlikely you see the crack unless the pieces are uneven. There are different thicknesses of wrap - so a slightly thicker one might help.
