Default feeling really stupid coolant question

so I recently picked up a 2009 xf 4.2 and I am in the process of learning the vehicle. One thing I noticed that I was unaware of previously is that there is no coolant temp gauge. I kind of like watching temps as opposed to idiot lights but oh well, the vehicle is purchased. Today I was performing routine orientation and checking fluids, and when I checked the coolant reservoir, I was a little surprised to see it was a tad below the "low level" platform....and that no warning of low coolant level has appeared. In my 05 s type, not only is there a temp gauge, but if the level falls below that tab in the reservoir, a low coolant message would display. What's up?
Now the stupid question.....I know I know I know about Jaguar using only orange coolant, but in the auto parts store today I could not find Jaguar orange coolant, although they did have "european" PINK coolant with a label on the bottle listing Jaguar as one of the vehicles to use it in. CAN I TOP OFF WITH THAT PINK FLUID?

Do not mix coolants. Use DEXCOOL as it meets Jaguar specifications.

If it's new to you, I'd suggest you take the opportunity to flush out the coolant and replace it. It's cheap to buy. Then once all the air has bubbled out of the system mark very carefully where the level is and check regularly to ensure you're not losing any. Overheating can be death to these engines so worth really making sure. There is quite a bit of plastic used in the cooling system and it ages and leaks eventually...

Yes, or any coolant that meets the spec indicated in your owner's manual, irrespective of colour.
