Default Few issues left to fix on XF but can't find solution or cause for the issues

Hi all,

Maybe someone can help me who had similar experience with their XF.

I was selling my Jag XF 2013 Sportbrake 2.2D after fixing everything… but few things I can’t figure out unfortunately buyers spotted what I already knew.
  • Somehow, steering wheel is shaking between 80-110km/h, but not up and down, more left right, slight vibration / pulling right-left. It does not change if I apply brakes within that speed range, car does not pull to left or right. Tracking done, tyres ok, wheels balanced, new banana wishbones installed, other suspension components are fine, yet steering wheel is still shaking.
  • Fluctuating revs. Start car in the morning, revs match Torque App, 780rpm +/- 5. Once accelerate, then idle stays at about 900-950rpm. Then, while driving, rev not just fluctuate, but have different readings than Torque App. For example, Torque App shows 1300rpm +/- 5rpm, car’s dash shows 1500rpm and fluctuating about 100-200rpm depending what gear is it on. This 100-200rpm seems like the idle difference 900/950 – 780 rpm. Speedo is fluctuating same as revs. Having done some research, I could not find cause for this or fix. I have full SDD software, with dongle etc but can’t find any option to associate with this issue?
I’ve spent few grand fixing this car and a lot of good labour, no shortcuts, no bs work (I used to restore bikes and cars for shows etc), and those two things left to fix.

Also, are 2.2D prone to coolant leaks? Not sure if I have one, I am just monitoring it after discovering some coolant on the engine oil drain bolt when I was servicing gearbox. I changed coolant and did the flush recently, so maybe it was overfilled or something and there might be release valve I am not aware of?

Despite I like this car and how it drives, there is too much work and maintenance with it. Going back to indestructible Volvo bricks…

Thanks in advance

Hm, when I took them off, looked fine, but I guess, it might be hard to see? There are no dents, balanced etc. Maybe, I should swap front with back wheels to see if there is a difference, but again, won't know if back wheels are good

Easy to see if a wheel is bent while it is on the car, get under the car with it jacked clear of the ground and spin the wheel. Hold something close to the wheel as a guide and you'll see the gap either change or stay the same as the wheel rotates. Doesn't take much out-of-round to give you a vibration; I've got a slightly buckled rear from hitting a pothole with the 30 profile tyre, had to replace the tyre and the tyre fitters didn't even pick up on the buckled rim.

Ok, first I will swap front and rear wheels, just for testing, and then lift car and check with method you described thank you!
