foot rest

Would it attach with double-sided tape and/or velcro? Not sure about doing a permanent screw in application...

Yep, double-sided tape should work, as long as it's a good strong one like 3M.
I stuck similar foot rests on both my XFs using double-sided tape and they never budged.
