Default Front passenger seat rattling when vacant

My car has developed a very annoying rattle. When I am alone in the car, the front passenger seat is making a rattling noise.

It is the seat back. If I push the seat side towards the door, it stops and it does not make any noise if someone is on it.

I hope the CPO warranty will look into it and see if they can fix it.

Anybody else have this problem?

I had a rattle on that side that turned out to be the seat belt buckle rattling against the door.

I have had cars do that also and it does rattle until I lay it flat against the pillar.

But sadly, this is not the rattle I have now

Glad to hear I'm not the only one - was beginning to think I was developing a car-rattle psychosis (yes, that's a real diagnosis). My wife thinks I've lost it. I've almost crashed my car leaning over to see if I can localize the rattle - no luck so far. And I agree, it's not there when somebody is seated in the passenger side. My driver-side upper speaker also buzzes when someone is talking to me on the phone - can't concentrate on the conversation. Like I said, car-rattle psychosis is a real diagnosis. I bet Rolls Royce's don't rattle or buzz...

I had the same issue and drove me nuts, I reclined the seat slightly and it stopped. Still shouldnt happen in a $50g car.

I never thought of that. I will try that when I get home next week.

I applied the same solution. Apparently at certain backrest angles the passenger seat may vibrate. Hopefully your wife likes the perfect backrest angle!
