Default Fuel pump question

In the 2011 5.0 gasoline XF what is the correct way to prime the fuel lines? I replaced the pump and can hear it running but car will not start. Tried pressing the start button without touching the brake pedal 6 times to prime the lines. Do I need to do it more?
nevermind. The line had popped off in the tank. 🤦‍♂️

The in tank supply pump is electric and cycling the key on and off should start and stop the pump. This should get pressure to the engine mounted mechanical HP fuel pumps.
Which pump did you replace? I think you replaced the in tank electric pump?

6 times should be plenty? Are you sure the line has not popped off again?
I don't know if there is a fuel test port anymore on these engines but I think not?

Correct, a few accessory power cycles without turning on the engine should pressurize empty fuel lines for normal starting operation. Helps to have even a cheap bluetooth OBD reader with a free app to see live data, can see pressure increase with each cycle at the sensor.
