Is it a new module (never has been programmed before?) or a used module?
How much do you know about SDD?
Have you ever programmed a module before?
Tell us EXACTLY what setup you have running SDD now.

yes, that info is actually in the owners manual. ive had to release the park before...
Right now I have completely gutted my Jag, theres nothing but wires inside..lol. figured i would finish customizing it while i have it all taken apart for this issue...
Did you figure out what the problem was? I’m having the same issue with my 2012 Jaguar XF Supercharged V8
i have just got through the exact same issue, sadly no contact with OP with his issue
I FIXED IT !!
i found that my 2015 X250 Sportbrake had a battery supply issue to the GSM ( not the ignition or wake up signal or other wiring )
as it had no power, the ECU and all related equipment throws a fault of no communication etc etc, ignore it, the module supply is the issue ,
this is pin 20 on the C33-C connector ( C33-C/20 ) , yellow and red trace, no power with ignition switched on ( as others, engine runs, handbrake works, but no GSM functions ) and sometimes intermittent ( this connector is behind the console left side trim in the middle, and can easily be got to )
the cable comes from fuse 26 , a 10a in the engine bay fuse box, and is a direct feed to the GSM , but does go thought C13-C/16 and C33-C/20 connectors , and also has a splice before the C13-C connector to supply the TCM module,
i bypassed this cable completely by holding a wire in the fuse holder in the engine bay with the inserted fuse, and then using the wire into the C33-C/20 position with the yellow and red wire,
hey presto, worked first time, and every time
this means the wire is broken somewhere !!
try this and if it works , its your issue ( at your own list i might add )
very little if any info about this on the Jag forums at all.......
good luck

YEah, i saw some of those, none of them seemed to fit the scenario to me. also I put my VIN in the recall database and only one popped up (which is unrelated but i will be having looked at as soon as im done with this). However, I have been doing more troubleshooting...
when i was going back through my continuity testing, i noticed a random tone where it shouldn't have been and realized the connector C33-C was faulty and shorting out.
i replaced the connector, but when i plug into the GSM i still get the same readings. (which leads me back to the GSM) unless something beyond the GSM is causing a short and blowing the GSM circuit. which i would hope wouldnt happen.
to confirm my theories for myself, by taking the GSM apart myself and found corrosion and damage on the circuit board.
i have obtained another (used) Replacement GSM but my current concern is if something else is shorting it out after the GSM that may have caused the same issue in the first replacement GSM..
another theory is that the second may have been shorted out the same way the first one could have been in by the damaged C33-C connector. now that its been rebuilt, im wondering if that could have cleared the issue...
so before i just go plug this one in, im going to do a bit more research first to make sure im not just blowing my money up soon as i plug it in...lol
Did you find out some solutions,?
I’m having same issues in my Jaguar XF 2.7 2008. This issues started in February this year. I can see any power in gear shifter module, however I can start the car and use the parking brake.
I bought another gear shifter online and after that it’s worked perfectly fine until yesterday. Same issues again ,! I’m really surprised that how come same issues again in new part.
look like maybe faulty electrical issues or I read in some post that might be water is running inside wiring loom. Please help me if you sorted out your issues. Looking forward to hearing from you. Connector

Hi,
I know you posted this a while ago, but was hoping you may be able to help as it seems you have more knowledge about electricals and was able to fix your problem. Having stumbled on your post, i see you has the exact same problem i currently have.
I have been able to get the gear seletor out but the wiring configuration seems different to yours and was hoping you may be able to point me in the right direction. I have attached a picture of my socket and its wiring. You mentioned that it was pin 20 on your connection but my pin 20 wire is not yellow with the red trace, on my connection yellow with the red trace is pin 1. The wire in my connection for pin 20 is green with orange trace.
I appreciate that this is at my own risk but thought i would ask.
