Gearbox Fault, Gear Selector locks in Pos. "D"
Since a couple of weeks I have one of the common jag problems with the gear selector
My car is a 2010 Jaguar XFR (X250) before facelift, 5.0 supercharged, and I really loved my car :-) :-(
Question:
Would be very glad for advice if someone could help.
My car is a 2010 Jaguar XFR (X250) before facelift, 5.0 supercharged, and I really loved my car :-) :-(
- Firstly I had some cases where the gear selector blocks in Parking Position (P). Sometimes the problem has solved itself by chance, after locking and unlocking the car several times. And once the problem occurred permanently. Then I changed the brake switch due to recommendations I have read in other posts. But that's not solving the problem. I then towed the car to the mechanic. Surprisingly, there the problem has resolved itself again and they could not determine the cause of the error.
- After driving some days without any problems now I got it stuck in Driving Position (D)! This is an even bigger problem for me as I can't get the car to neutral position using the emergency release build cable (thus it's not possible to get the car rolling freely), and the engine won't start either. Disconnect the battery has also brought nothing and now I do not want to wait for the happy coincidence of self-healing
Question:
- Is there any change to get the car into parking position from driving mode without disassembling the gear selector and pushing away the blocking latch in the switch? And how would that work?
It may be working with the V130 SDD from british diagnostics? Does anyone knows about this? Maybe howto reset or sth like that? I will get this SDD Kit in some days. - What's the difference between 8X23-7E453-AF, 9X23-7E453-CF, 9X23-7E453-BD and similar? They are all gear selectors. Respectively 9X23 stands for automatic transmission, but what the difference to 8X23. And the letters at the end, is it a functional status or what?
--> Can I take any of them for my car or is there some recommendation?
Would be very glad for advice if someone could help.
