Hi folks...I have a question on the access to the glove box on wife's 2009 XF........from what I can tell, the ONLY way to open the glove box is with the electronic touch sensor on the accent facia above the glove box. And I have discovered that the fuse for that sensor is the same as interior dome lights. When working on replacing the driver side illuminated visor, I managed to blow the fuse. Then, I say to myself, reference the owner manual in the glove box to find fuse location. Alas, can't open glove box due to it being on same fuse. Found on line fuse location diagram, and replaced the fuse. But I am really wondering for future reference, that touch sensor can't possibly be the only way of opening the glove box, right????? What if you need to show your registration to a police officer and it is in the glove box and the touch sensor is inoperable???
So.......what is the secondary means of opening the glove box?

 

unfortunately, as far as i know, the touch sensor is the only way

and yes, its VERY frustrating to open that damn thing, thats why they switched to a physical button in 2011
