Default Hand Laid Carbon Fiber

Played around with some carbon fiber, not to bad for the first try but what a pain in the *** these were. Epoxy needs to cure so they still need to wet sanded and polished. I wanted to keep the stock vents since they are held in with clips verse double sided tape... I'm going to do the side vents next and undecided on what other pieces may look good..

Very nice work! Looks a lot like the Mina Gallery ones I have. Try the side mirror covers, they pop off super easy and I love the look the Mina Gallery ones I have give. The only drawback is that you can tell they have been overlaid with epoxy, especially if you view them from the driver's seat.

thanks everyone!! i'll post pictures once I can sand and buff too..

Basically sand the item to scuff it up. Lay down thin base coat of epoxy and let it get tacky. Lay down the carbon fiber (don't press to hard or weaves will spread and create gaps), let cure. Lay top coat of epoxy, let cure. Sand down, lay another coat of epoxy, let cure. Once 3rd coat is cured, clear it, sand and buff.

Got the materials from here:

how do that caps pop off? I'm always afraid of breaking plastic clips! I want to take off the side vents which I know pop off too but they are in there good!

I was contemplating the spoiler and gas cap lid? idk... for sure going to try the mirrors or buy mina's they reasonably priced and the curves makes me scared to try cause there is not going back

The tabs allow it to pop right off, I think you just pull them straight outward away from the car if I remember right. I don't think you could break any tabs
