Default Headlights being sanded and clear coated. Ugh

Ever since I had my headlights opened and custom blacked, I've hated how the road rash and finish showed up. So decided to have refinished.
My trim shop has my headlights and started sanding yesterday.
Well, seems jaguar has a coating on the outside that is a BEAST to get through. It had started wearing off on the sides and I assumed it would be easy to sand off.
NOT!!!!
When I stopped by to see, it was a shock but I know he can do it. I'll post pics when done.

Thanks for the timely reminder about why we should not mess with these expensive beasts! I don't have any advise but good luck.

You might consider the EXPEL product for the headlights and more.
I put them on my STR after I cut and buffed them to a high shine.

Been 2+ years and they are still perfect. Plus more impact protection.

I'm fearless when it comes to my cars!!
Actually, no one noticed the usual road rash but me. I had same guy sand and clear coat my XJ lights a few years ago and they looked brand new!

Finally finished!! Wow!! They look astoundingly new!! There's a few deep pits that are barely visible, but otherwise WOW!! He did an awesome job. Now to install.
