Default Help on a coolant leak

For a week, I've noticed a slight leak - no drips on the ground but can smell it and have to top off coolant reservoir every day or so.

Can't see any drips or leaks... Then yesterday, something let go and there is a big trail out of the back of the engine.

I was hoping to make it till next Friday when o have a. Apt to get my airbag recall done, but now I think I'll have it towed to an indie tomorrow.

Any insight on what leaks on these.?

My car is a 2009 xf SC. 65,000 miles.

Thanks.

You have the 4.2L SC engine. Do you know about the hose under the SC?
This is an expensive hose to replace.

Yeah, I do know of that. Not sure how it presents or if you can see it. I'm kinda assuming that's what it is though.

Staying positive and thinking this is a good time to do the SC pulley upgrade

Keep an eye on the coolant tank. The small nipple at the top toward the front of the car is known to break. When the engine revs it pulls on that line and cracks the nipple over time. It seeps out slowly when the car gets up to temp. I had to splice in some extra line to prevent it from happening. I'm on my 3rd tank and the 09 SC 4.2L tank is not cheap.... :/

So it appears to be the coolant hoses leaking at the throttle body.
Anyone know what I can expect to pay for their replacement? Cost a couple hundred just to diagnose as the shop had to dig so deep down in the engine to find the leak.

It isn't fun due to space issues, but the throttle body can be pulled off without too much effort (~30min - 1 hour of labor). You may have to call the dealer to have them track down the hose. If it is the end that is leaking you could cut it off and splice in a new piece with a connector and some clamps.

You can try and use this site to find the hose: https://www.jaguarlandroverrenoparts...0hose%20return
