YOM as above 2009 jaguar xf premium luxury. Charlotte NC, 45k miles, I love it but just want a little more power. Can i supercharge the 4.2 v8 thats in mine, i know they make a supercharged version of the exact car but i already have this one. Check this link out...

they say it would fit. looking for legit advice from a car guru/ mechanic that really knows what they are talking about. How many horses would this bump it up to? Around how much for installation. I got a guy who works on foreign cars but i havent asked him yet. Also besides a super charger what other upgrades might bump me up to around four hundred horses? Thanks in advance to any help given, Ben

Don't bother messing up your XF by creating problems. If you just want a little more power than put your money toward buying the XFR. Just use the money you were going to buy a SC kit and the money from selling your XF and go buy the XFR.

As stated above, it will cost you sell to sell the car and buy a supercharged version. I see 2010s with 5 liter engine going for mid $30,000s. It offers very similar performance.

You have a shop to install a supercharger on your car, you can forget about having a reliable car.

The non-supercharged V8 has a somewhat higher compression ratio than the supercharged version. Whether the part you linked to will bolt up or not, your computer won't be set up for it and without the drop in compression you'll risk detonation and engine damage. That's not to say you couldn't supercharge yours if you wanted to put in the effort / money, but there's a lot more finesse involved than just attaching a supercharger.

The previous posters are right, you'd be money ahead to just trade up.
