Default will an 09 XF engine cover fit an 06 SV8?

Hi Group,

I see a decent looking black and silver engine cover on ebay from a 2009 supercharged XF 4.2 for $110. Can anyone confirm that this would fit my 2006 Super V8 4.2?

Their listing has it fitting two 2009 normally aspirated engine models as well as a supercharged model but I think that is not correct.

A part number on the underside reads "2W93 6A949B (350)"

I only see two plug holes towards one end. On mine there are 4 two at the front and two at the back.
There are 4 mounting "studs" on the engine that rubber grommets in the holes press fit on.
Dont know whether the 2006 is different from my 2005 but you could look for the studs.

There are four studs on my 2006 also. You can see three rubber grommets on this cover on one of the photos and two in the other - they just didn't show the whole cover from the bottom, but it appears to have four.

Anyone know from the part number on the bottom that includes X350 in paranthesies?

As the plastic molding has the X350 (XJ) and X202 (Stype) #'s I think its a safe bet it will fit the super8. You could try your local dealer as they may match Merriam Jaguar who are selling the part for $92.44

Got to find my notes on engine cover prices - I seem to remember that the shipping was pretty high from some of the usual suppliers. I just checked Merriam again and they list a different part number (C2C37017) for my 06 SV8 than the C2Z1688 for the 09 XF, but the line drawings look the same except no extra bracket shown for the 06. Merriam's total is $126 and change for the one they list for my car. I kind of like the black and silver VS all black, but still don't know if they fit the same.

A Dealer might be an option, but the nearest is several hours away so driving or shipping would be high for them also. I had called the "local" Arkansas dealer in Little Rock about my two missing little plastic headlight washer trim-ring/retainer pieces and their price was $80 each! so I am guessing the engine cover price would not be good from this dealer either.

I wish there was a junk yard source around here where I could try the fit, but not many newer Jaguars live around here.

I saw another ebay listing for the same year and model XF engine cover with a video of that car's engine with the cover in place and it looks a bit different than a Super V8s intake setup. Guess I'll not take the chance.

Thanks to all who responded to my question.
