I Just bought water pump, valve cover gasket MAHLE VS50675, oil pump gasket, front and rear brake rotors & pads, K&N Air filter, Maina Gallery Air tube, Front & rear tires, trans oil filter.
There is a coolant smell but not seeing leak. 1. I want buy the important parts 2. If some one fined a part don't fit to my 2011 XFR pleas let me know.
I am buying from checkeredflag.com
Thanks
If money is the issue, my approach would be:
- Have a spare car and take your time to go through the process of replacing
- Visually inspect and possibly test each part when disassembling and replace only those you suspect
- Allways replace O-rings and gaskets
- I also find it difficult to be sure to have the right parts, therefore I normally ask for a quotation according to the VIN number of the car (works great with www.britishparts.co.uk)
Thanks Santer & Bart . I know That most Jags need to change most of the hoses. I had an experience with my 2004 70k miles XJR. I do have a spare car but I don't want to replace 1 hose and find the other is more important. or find the other fail after a month. My brother smell coolant but no leaks maybe the water pump or the rear hose.
Throwing parts at a Jaguar is a very expensive way to troubleshoot. Coolant smell - replace everything would NOT be my approach.
Are you losing coolant and, if so, is it a significant loss? If it is a significant loss, a pressure test kit will help identify the source. If it is minimal, a regular cause on several Jaguar models is the Expansion Tank. Any pinholing or seam faults here are only noticeable with a hot engine.
