Default How to dismount the dashboard?

Hello all!

I need to dismount the dashboard (the long wooden strip coming all along from left to right just below the screen, as shown in this picture)

in order to gain access to the after market GPS that my car has installed (a Stagemotion navigator). I see no screws and still not very familiar with the car, so would appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Here's a link I found on this forum to the shop manual. It should have what you need in there somewhere:

So you don't need to remove the dashboard, but just the long wood trim?

If it's just the wood trim, stick a screwdriver under one of the ends and pop it out. That wood strip is just held on with reusable clips.

Before you put it back on, make sure all the clips are still in the holes and the felt tape is positioned correctly, or you will either have trouble getting it on or it will rattle.

Thanks for the manual, Ron. I will have a look on it, for sure it is going to be an interesting reading.

lotusespritse, you are right, is the wood trim. I will make a try as you say. Thanks.

Thanks Ron_C for that link. It's super helpful to have the service manual!
