Default How to reset ECU/Radio

I know it seems like a simple question. I've left the battery disconnected for more than 24 hrs AND i've grounded the positive terminal reconnecting but still no dice. I know there's a battery or reset function I'm missing because the radio has all of my presets.

Anyone have any suggestions?

A "Hard Reset" is done by disconnecting the positive battery lead and holding it to the negative terminal for approximately ten seconds. Some advocate disconnecting both cables and holding them together as being safer but once the positive lead is disconnected, no current can flow so this isn't strictly necessary. Both methods achieve the same result.

The Hard Reset flattens the charge in OnBoard capacitors which is why "learned" settings are lost. On different models this can include fuel trims, window limits, radio pre-sets, radio security code (if applicable) and memorised seat and mirror settings. Programmed settings such as ECU, Instrument Pack and Security Module are not lost.

You don't say what issue you are troubleshooting that requires a Hard Reset.

Default Dan radio option missing

This is the second time in under two years that the Dab radio option has disappeared from the audio menu. I took it to the dealer last time and they said they had to ‘reset it’.

it’s out of warranty now and I just know they will want to charge for doing it again so I’m going to give the method mentioned above a good try. When you talk about shoring the battery leads are you talking about the batteries in the boot?

Yes but it's singular unless the F-Type has more than one battery. You may have a radio code? If so, take note of it as you will have to re-enter the code unless you're in the US. Follow Graham's advice in post 2. You probably won't get it back but it will do no harm to try unless you don't have the radio code.
