Default I can't stop smiling.....

I just picked up my first Jaguar today, namely a 3.0 S Portfolio on a 60 plate.
To be honest, I drove one at a different showroom and didnt 'open' it up at all, it seemed nice.
Well I purchased and picked mine up today and have been playing around with it a bit. I thought I would try the S mode with Dynamic switched on.
WHOOOOAAAAAAAA, head gets thrown back into the headrest and away she goes. But what amazed me even more was how responsive it is when still doing 80-90-100 (apparently anyway, there's no way I have or will go over the top speed of 70 of course, that's just downright illegal) But I 'hear' that it FLIES....
Can't stop smiling.
Bear in mind I have come from a Volvo S80 and I accept there are cars that are much faster than my XF however it amazes me that a family luxury saloon DIESEL can perform and twitch like that in the Dynamic mode but purr like a kitten in the normal mode.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

I've had one a few times as a loaner and even though I'm a petrol guy, I loved the sound of the air being sucked in while it is under heavyish acceleration. And the surge. Very cool.

I'll have to admit myself..I get goose bumps (not the Canadian kind) every time I stick my big toe to the metal..and that's not even in Sport Mode with DSC off and the Dynamic mode on, or using the paddles..

Enjoy it..they are fun..

Thanks Everyone, glad to be here. I've just seen my car in the light and love it even more.
It's like Christmas come early.

Haha, not quite as bad as that Graham.
Here is the story, I went to Kings Road Garage to look at a 59 non S for £14k, liked it. didnt drive it as it was being prepped and the weather was shocking. (Bearing in mind this was the very first Jag I had looked at up till then)
I looked on the used Jaguar website when I got home and found a good value 59 plate S at Peterborough Jaguar main dealership with 40k miles for £18450, Complete with 1 year main dealer warranty, thought, hmmm that sounds nice, lets have a look. Really liked it but it had 3 former keepers (massive alarm bells rang in my head). I knew the Kings Road garage had a 60 plate higher mileage portfolio for sale with loads of toys so contacted them and struck a deal on that.
To be honest, I had looked at it for around 30 seconds in the showroom whilst waiting to look at the other car I had gone to see.
In retrospect, this was not a sensible way to buy a 20K car however I knew how they drove, knew the spec and knew it had no former keepers so thought, why do I need to drive all that distance again to verify what I knew in my head haha. (Yes it was a bit risky but was exciting)
When I picked it up yesterday it was dark so today is the first time I have really looked at it properly haha.

Come to think of it..... why am I indoors chatting on the computer, I'm off to play with my new Jaguaaaaaarrrrr again.

Regards,

Jason

Glad you're enjoying it. Makes me smile every time I walk up to mine and the door unlocks for me.

I grabbed this from your link. Just the one there, not two?

Great looking car AND you take great photos. I'm off to sulk for a while.
