Default Idler pulley bearing - might help someone!

So I've had to shell out for a new Supercharger idler pulley C2S46862 for my XF Supercharged because the bearing was on the way out. I thought it might help if someone just wants to replace the bearing:

The bearing is an NSK B17-102DG48, and this is also sold as a 6303-2RS bearing, which can be found on the likes Amazon (
6303-2RS Bearing 17x47x14 Sealed Ball Bearings: Deep Groove Ball Bearings: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific 6303-2RS Bearing 17x47x14 Sealed Ball Bearings: Deep Groove Ball Bearings: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific
) for a fraction of the cost of a new pulley. Apparently can be pressed in and out of the pulley with an appropriately sized socket and a hammer

Looks like I'm about to if I can find one today locally.

BTW this upgraded SC puller is crap. I'll post more later. less than 50K miles maybe even 35K and it's gone. Wait till you see how it's held on, with a plastic centering bushing!

Ok so I got a KOYO 6303r2s style bearing at a local bearing house for about $14.00 and I was able to press the old one out and the new one in. I had access to a good bearing press and the requisite fixtures. I wouldn't try to slam the old one out and new one in though. I usually place the bearing in the freezer for a half hour and the pulley in the oven which I did @ 375F but I think 450F might have been better as it did not slip in so back to finish the job with the press and it's all done.

It will fail in 35K-50K miles too though as this IMHO is a woefully under engineered piece, that bearing is overloaded. A lot of that on this car. This is the upgraded double sided ribs system too! Just like is used on the later XFR etc.

The SC belt looked as new but I'm replacing it anyway.

Here are some photos of the SC idler pulley, new bearing and the "interesting" bolt with a shoulder and a plastic centering piece.

If the plastic piece isn't set in a bit from the outside edge I think it doesn't do it's job properly. Once you have that set for best centering stability then just push it all the way home and tighten the screw into the mount. Don't put the pulley up against the mount and then insert the screw. This way you'll ensure the plastic piece stays adjusted to where it's best.

Just a longer shoulder on the bolt might have been nice ...

The flanged pulley for the main belt is the same setup.
