I'm trying to disable my blindspot monitors with SDD
I've have the error message for years and I tried to get the system fixed but no avail. I want to get rid of the message as I don't miss them anyway so I thought I would disable them with SDD. I have v1.64 with a clone mongoose cable and homebrew battery support unit. All the lights stay green including battery.
I entered engineering mode and made the changes to the CCF file for "side object detection" from "fitted" to "Not fitted", it seemed to make the changes and went through the process ok on the screen and the car was honking and displaying all the errors and message it could during this time but I'm read this is normal. After it gave me to option to clear the codes which said it had done after a while but the errors never went on my car even though it said it was successful and gave me a warranty code/key. I ended the session but I still couldnt get my car to start or the errors to disappear so I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and everything was back to normal upon reconnecting including the "blindspot not available" warning message
I thought perhaps it hadn't changed it but upon starting a new session on SDD and looking at the parameters in the CCF, it was now showing "Not Fitted" as in the image below. I thought maybe I made mistake, I followed the same process to edit the file from "Not Fitted" to "Undefined" including the need for a battery reset to clear the warning messages but it still shows the "blindspot not available" warning message.
I'm not sure if there is more than one place I must make the change in the CFF before the car will think the BSM is no longer fitted? Or maybe the error messages not clearing afterwards are something to do with it? Or perhaps something else? Any help would be appreciated.
