Default Infotainment Mod / ipad tablet

I tried searching for this and didnt find anything.

Wondering if anyone has done or seen someone swap out the stock infotainment screen for a tablet or aftermarket one?

A friend of mine did this on his car (non jaguar) and I thought it was a good idea. Using your phone as a hot spot you can use countless numbers of apps and he even had this thing you plug into the car which connects to the app and shows 0-60 times, displays check engine codes, etc.

The old system 2009-whenever they updated it, isnt the best so for those of us stuck in the past I think this might be something to investigate.

I'm guessing you could bypass the speakers and use a tablet for audio output for that, but where would you put it? You still need your infotainment screen to control A/C, seat heaters, etc.

Thats a good point. This car is probably too advanced to swap the standard screen and set up for a tablet. Maybe it could be done but would need some serious tech know how. Perhaps getting apps to control seat heat/ac for instance but I dont know how you would wire that all up.
