Default Intermittent P0106 error code?

A couple of months ago, my XF had a check engine light with a P0106 error. It lasted a couple of days and then the check engine light went off. I called the dealer and they said that as long as the light went off, i'm ok. Not to worry. This morning, the check engine light came on again. Same error.

Is is ok to drive around with this error? Is it something that could damage the car if I drive with it? Should I clear the error code and see if it comes back on again?

Help is appreciated.

Ken

It likely means the car can't get fuelling right but to my mind more importantly right now would be why is it happening.

If you're unlucky it could be water in something really important like the PCM - but lucky if so in that you've been alerted via a code!

I don't know where BARO sensor is in your car but mine is inside the PCM and water would be a scary suspect...

I had the same issue, it was a dirty throttle body and MAP sensor. Cleaned them up and the code never returned.

Check the intake tube from the air boxes to the throttle body. It's plastic and prone to cracks.

Mine fell apart when I pulled it off for examination.

One day later, the check engine light disappeared. 3 days later the light has not come back on. I guess that's a good thing, but a little exasperating. The dealer told me, again, not to bring it in if the check engine light is not on. I guess I'll wait to see if it comes on again.
