Apologies for another iPhone question - I have had a look but can't see this particular question asked before.

When I connect my iPhone 3G to the cable for the purposes of playing music, it:

1. plays music ok, but it only comes out of the driver's speakers, and
2. doesn't charge the phone

Not too worried about point 2 (but kind of expected it would, to be honest) but point one is irritating - it means the music is not so clear for other passengers, and not so "full" for me either.

Is there something to be done to improve this?

Did you check the settings to make sure the balance isn't on just right side of the car? That may be why it's coming out just the front right speaker.

 

Yes, I did, and no, it's not.

It works fine with a CD / the radio, but as soon as I plug in the iphone it's all out of the driver's door.

 

hhmmm. Yea that's very strange. Maybe the settings on the iphone have to be adjusted?

I have the iphone 4, never really tried playing music off of it. It does charge the phone though. And, ipod works fine.
