Default Jaguar Select Edition extended warranty

I picked up an used '09 XF S/C from an authorized USA Jaguar dealership and they said my car has been added the 'Select Edition' so my warranty is now a total of 100,000 miles and 6-yr bumper to bumper. I live in Canada and the service department is a bit vague in acknowledging or accepting it (a bit too early but just wanted to know to keep it for 4yrs or 6yrs before selling it with like a month of warranty left.)

When I called Jaguar Canada and said I need to pay for an extra service dept type inspection before any authorized dealer can perform warranty work on this. Anyone had this problem?

Any further info is appreciated.

I can't directly answer your question but the car warranty begins with the date of initial purchase...for example, I too have recently purchased an '09 XF SC and it was originally sold to the first buyer in August 2008...so my six year warranty began August 2008 and will expire in August 2014..so I have three years left..assuming I don't go over the 100K mile limit (which I won't).

The jaguar dealership explained to me that the extended warranty covers everything with the exception of consumable items such as window wipers, tires, ect.

If your car has been designated as a "Select Edition", then all inspection, etc, costs should already have been factored in the sale price. You should have the extended warranty as previously noted for no additonal costs to you.
BUT, Canada laws may be different, I don't know. Might want to contact the Jag North America for clarification.

Because we pay extra for buying cars in Canada, in part because our government insists on implementing its own safety and emission standards, some of these extended warranties don't cross the border too well. Also, Jaguar probably farms out this coverage. If so then there will be required procedures to follow to ensure repairs are covered. I would not decide to sell based on merely a fear that the warranty is no good, you paid for it in the price you paid, you should use it. Is it transferable? Some are not.
