Hi,
I have recently noticed some rattling sound whilst driving coming from the front passenger side of my car.
Not sure if it's something from under the passenger seat or possibly the glove-box, but I am struggling to figure it out.
Has anyone else experiences something similar to this?
Thanks
Malcolm

Check the passenger seatbelt. On mine the belt buckle can sometimes hang on the side of the passenger seat and hit the plastic of the B pillar between the front and rear doors. It drove me crazy for 2 weeks until I spotted it!

Absolute star.... can't believe it was something such basic. I clipped the belt in and now it seems the sounds gone...lolOriginally Posted by BritCars

Great - I'm glad it worked. I hesitated when posting as I thought I might get some abuse for being condescending! It sounds so obvious - and yet not easy to spot while you're driving alone - and with a passenger it doesn't happen!

Yup, it took me 2 months to figure this out!Originally Posted by BritCars

I fixed my belt buckle rattle by adding an extra "stopper button" further up the belt, so the buckle now sits higher up and further away from the B pillar.
Cost me a whopping 95c IIRC for a pair of them.
Only hassle was that I needed to melt the centre plug of the button to get it solidly mounted, easy enough with a soldering iron.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who was confused by this rattle at first!

Autozone (and I am sure all other auto part stores) carry in stock the Dorman "help" seatbelt stop (part number 74357) in black for about $7.00 USD for a pair.
They click into place so you do not need to melt the pin tight.
Here is a pic of mine. You really only need to do the passenger side since the driver is always on when driving.
