Jaguar XF SV8 (4.2 supercharged) - CATS suspension with Adaptive Dynamics absorbers
Hello all,
The issue I have may be a little unusual, the car, when I bought it required new shock absorbers. Due to the shortage of sv8 parts in my country, my mechanic installed a complete set of adaptive shock absorbers from the 3.0 diesel version (facelifted). Since then the suspension is very stiff, although what shocks me is that it doesn't show any CATS errors. I downloaded the workbook manuals for both pre and face lifted XF and from what I can see there, the SV8 CATS suspension only had the soft and firm options, whereas the newer version (called "Adaptive Dynamics" in the manual) has variable firmness settings working with more sensors, other frequencies (526 Hz vs 400 Hz in sv8) and a different current sent from the module. I would be grateful for any feedback to the following questions:
- is it possible to make the CATS system in the sv8 work with these shock absorbers?
- is it possible to at least "fool" the absorbers to stay in the softer setting permanently?
- how is it possible that there are no errors regarding the CATS system right now, should there be any?
