Just got the new XF tinted
OMG......I too was considering tinting but the CA law says 70% front windows and could not understand why the tint people allow more tint .....wow Someone said that the factory glass is already 70% so >>>>...........????
i think all film tint is actually illegal on the front side windows. i believe it needs to be the readily detachable roller type shade in order to be in compliance with vehicle code sections 26708 and 26708.2, but people can look for themselves.
that being said, i had film tint placed on all of the windows...

Usually the factory tint is all that is allowed on windows at the driver position or forward.
Actually, window tint is dangerous. You want the other drivers to be able to see your eyes.
God forbid you Americans should have to deal with a cop through tinted windows!

I assume you are talking about Canada and not the US. In the US just the opposite is true—nearly all states allow additional tinting of the front side windows. Obviously this is not true with the windshield. Tintlaws.com is a great site to review the specifics of each state.
