I'm considering doing this to my xf, has anyone done this and is how hard is the installation and wiring?
also whats the best place to purchase them at? ebay or ali?

 

What car do you have? Lots of threads on this 12-18 months ago. For the SC models the duct behind them is active for cooling so a little harder to run the wires

Some people had issues with the ones from china (which I think are the only place to get them now) not fitting well. Others had no problems

Wiring is easy. Think the earlier posts describe else any competent car electrician should be able to do it easily. You can switch so they go with the headlights or dim with them on some models. Or have them on all the time

Let me know if you go ahead. I've always wanted to do it but never quite pulled the trigger
