Default Letter from Lawfirm regarding XF

Hello,

I have received this letter from Law Offices of Richard C Dalton regarding 2008-2011 XF's and complaints from the NHTSA. Has anybody received this letter? Is this a scam? I have taken my vehicle in numerous times for fuel gauge issues and they finally replaced it. Not sure if I should take this letter seriously?

I googled the lawyer and he is a legitimate lawyer, but I don't know if this whole thing really applies to my XF.

SO what happens is one owner contacts the attorney or the attorney becomes aware of an issue with your year Jaguar that he things he can build a class action law suit around.
If he has your name and address he has probably already had a judge order Jaguar to release names/addresses to him of people that could be party to his suit.
If he can collect enough people willing to go in on the suit he will pursue it with Jaguar who will settle out of court for some amount which the attorney will pocket an amount (30%) and the remaining will be distributed to people like you.
I am not an attorney but I have spent more time in court then I would like to have and this is my uneducated understanding of what your letter means.

If it were me I would probably shred the letter, unsolicited contact from attorney's has never ended favorably for me.

The text of the letter (with nothing identifying your personal information) would be a useful addition to this thread.

It would also help other members to respond if they have received the same or similar approaches already or do so in the future.
