Default Loss of indicator sound

I have a 2012 Jaguar XF Premium Luxury. The indicator sounds have stopped working - the indicators still work but there is no sound. Jaguar Servicing has quoted $2000 to replace a part where the speaker is located and $1000 to fit the part. To add insult to injury, the extended warranty expired 2 months before the problem started. Does anyone have any suggestions for a less expensive solution?

Apparently the speaker electronics are part of the instrument cluster, which is fairly easy to remove, see here: Plea for help - instrument cluster speaker and the thread linked in post #4.
But after that I can't help!

Was it intermittent before it completely gave out? That's the issue I am having now.

No, it became very loud and rapid, then stopped altogether.

If you can get the instrument cluster out, this part should fit the cluster, it replaces the original speaker which is marked on a spare that I have as "DIGISOUND FB-BMS-3408-01". Looks like it will need to be resoldered but is an easy job - if you can't do it you should be easily able to find someone who can for a lot less than the dealership want.
