Hi all, i have a 2015 jaguar xf 3.0 and recently had a coolant leak. After replacing all of the plastic parts with the upgraded metal parts my coolant level low light is still on. Ive pressure tested the system and dont see any leaks. Any ideas? I'm very new to fixing my own car.
The low coolant sensor in the top tank has been reported to fail. Is your car full of coolant? Can you see the float in the tank?
Some what of a common failure and replacing the top tank is the cure.
You were smart to pressure test the coolant system too.
As posted above these cars are also known to trap air in the cooling system. I have swapped over to using a vacuum filler only. No air bubbles as it works very well.
How did you fill the coolant? In the past I have just driven the car while checking the coolant level. Topping up as needed as the heat and cool cycles work the air bubbles out of the system. In a couple of days it's usually all bled out.
Did you open the air bleed port?
This is again another plastic cooling part that you can replace with metal. Here is the factory part as JLR has went back and released a number of coolant parts in metal instead of plastic.
Many of these out there as this same plug is used by multiple car manufacturer's. Ton's of BMW's have the exact same screw. So a lot of after market versions if you don't want to buy from JLR.
