Hello all, i hope someone can clear this up for me. So i was fiddling around in my vehicle locating modules and i noticed that i don't have certain modules and if anyone can if this is correct. I have 2012 xf 5.0 v8 the base model and i noticed i don't have 2 batteries like some of the others. I've also noticed i have no gateway module and i just need to know if it's standard with the base model and if i should go about purchasing those. Also if there's any other modules that it dosen't come equipped with.Thanks in advance

 

Honestly on a car this over-moduled and complex just be glad what you have is working. Don't ask for more.

 

Different years and different set ups?
The two batteries are for the stop start system which your 2012 model does NOT have.

Unless you can get the car hooked up to SDD where it can read the VIN and then scan all modules there is no way to determining what's what?
Is there anything not working on your car?

SDD will show something like this.





What you look for is red "X" as that should be on your car BUT SDD is not seeing it. This is from my 2014 XJR and notice I do have ? and green check marks but no red "X"s. So no car that I have seen will have every last module. Or at least I have never seen one?

Now you can add and delete options and features too but again this is getting deep into the car and you will need to understand and edit CCF files.
