It can be just the simple act of making sure you plant your foot squarely on the brake pedal? I know I have a bad habit of having my foot angled onto the brake pad, graphically brought to my attention during a recent Jaguar Art of Performance event which was held in the wet. I left foot braked and the foot slipped straight off the metal brake pedal

Thank you. My daughter and several friends have said the same thing. I have confidence back in the auto now....knowing it was never an auto-fault to begin with....so just need to work on getting confidence back in me. I really am a "young 72" and if I stay very mindful and focused (since obviously I have been sloppily driving for some time now) I'm considering giving it another go. I find I have to keep my foot more toward the middle-to-left of brake pedal now to be comfortable. Did a couple of short runs on errands today - before had always been so worried and anxious about performance of car, and now I know that was never the problem. Thank you for thoughtful reply.

That the sprite. I wouldn't give up on driving just yet if this has been your only issue. Now you know the cause, you can alter your foot placement or even drive barefoot or with more suitable shoes so you can feel the pedals more.
