Default Front seat adjustment

Hi guys, I'm a newbie to this forum, longtime classic car fan and owner, just picked up an '87 XJ6 and it's a beauty, inside and out...I notice the front drivers seat adjustment fore and aft comes up short going forward...I'm 6 foot and can barely comfortably touch the gas and brake pedal. Pulled the lower handle up, she goes back just fine but stops short going forward. Is this the way it's supposed to be, anyone under 6 foot tall, (5'9"even?) have a problem like this? Great Forum! Lots of great info, will go introduce myself in the other thread soon. Anyways let me know, thanks in advance!

there should be plenty of forward travel in both front seats.

there might be a wedding ring stuck in one of the tracks??

a silver dollar? a ruby?

push the seat all the way back when sitting on it, then with a bright lamp look under the seat to see if there is anything inside the tracks.

The car looks great, Vanden Plas or Sovereign model?

in my car, when I push the driver's seat fully forward, I have 13½" inches between the front edge of the seat piping and the front surface of the brake pedal.

Not sure if the Vanden Plas seats are a little longer.

There are some extremely tall people that change where the seats bolt to the floor to give more room. If you are 6' and can't reach the petals there is definitely something amiss. The seats are easy to get out - a bolt at each corner and flip it back and out through the back door. I always felt my seats were too low so installed longer bolts and spacers. Easy to customize to your liking.

Quantum:

Might it be your 6' and how you are built. Some of us have long torsos and short legs, yet measure at 6'. Others have short torsos and long legs, yet measure 6' as well.

So, in your car, a bit of each, body and seat impediment..

Quantum:!!!!

I'd say so. My inseam is about the same as yours. My waist, oh how I wish I could go back to those days.

I fit in my Jaguar just fine.

So, that resolved, something is blocking the seat tracks.

Sure is a nice car, that you scored....
