I bought my 2011 XF last year and have taken it into the dealership 3 times: 1.-they hardwired my escort radar detect-everything went fine, but when i got my car back there were wires and clips they did not clean up.

2-hit a pothole so i took the car in, replaced the tire, which had a bubble, did alignment-got the car back-grease stains on my seats.

3-took car in for sunroof rattles-i waited for over an hour for my rental care-which was a jeep?? then they had my car for 4 days to "fix" the rattle. the rattle continues- when i got my car back there was grease smudge on the door handle and a little grease around the sunroof area.

I feel like the dealer is very unprofessional and I don't feel comfortable taking my car there for any more service- Can i go to a different dealer? who do i contact to complain??? I contacted the dealer last time, but it obviously didn't work

 

What was the dealer's reaction? If I were the dealer and these things were happening to my customers' cars, I would want to know so I could take corrective measures. You say they didn't seem to care, but can you be more specific?

In any event, if you don't like going there, switch dealers (if one is close/convenient). You are not obligated to go back to the dealer who sold you the car.

 

same happened to me the first time i took it back...but i did complain and gave them a piece of my mind. now they wear gloves and my service manager makes full inspection of car before and while im there before i drive off lot.

 

I spoke with the service manager and explained how everything happened and he said he will make sure it never happens again....but it just did. The service advisor that was there last time was let go i think. There was a new guy there this time.
