Need help finding the inertia switch
I can’t find the fuel cutoff inertia switch on this jaguar fx sv8 supercharged I’ve looked under all four footrests but I can’t find to seem the switch someone please help. Also am I looking for the right thing? It won’t start up ever since an accident from behind although was very lenient. I hope resetting the switch will solve it right. Someone please help a brother out.

I've searched the Owner's Handbook which only offers the following information on fuel cut-off:

The Workshop Manual gives a little more information. It shows that fuel cut-off is part of the SRS (supplemental restraint system). If this outputs a crash signal on the high speed CAN (controller area network), the ECM de-energizes the fuel pump relay to prevent any further fuel being pumped to the engine.
I cannot find an Inertia Switch in the parts catalogue which suggests such isolation of the fuel supply may set a diagnostic code which has to be cleared rather than restored by resetting the switch fitted to earlier models.

I used a battery tester. It says the battery is fine. And after further research it appears you won’t be able to find the inertia switch as unlike other cars it’s not fitted anywhere else but is part of the restraint system. I’ll reoeat the issue. The car won’t start. It’s besn hit from behind very lightly and after that it won’t start. I even checked the brake switch there’s nothing wrong with that. Any ideas what I should move on to checking next? Please help.

Since the car took a rear end hit, could the battery, or any connections have been compromised in any way. I know on the xj6 that I owned, any battery issues would often cause the "Christmas tree" effect which included multiple dash warnings rnings/lights etc. It may also contribute to your non start issue. Just a thought.

Jaguar XF 2015
Hi, if anyone can assist me with the common problem after a rear collision.
my Jaguar XF 2015 was hit from the rear, was only a minor damage however as a result the engine wont start now. I will looked at previous forms looks like I’ve got a same or similar issue.
is there any was I can reset the fuel inertia switch on this model without going to Jaguar dealers and paying a fortune.
would appreciate your assistance
many thanks

Inertia switch
From memory, the inertia switch is located behind or just above the drivers side kick panel in the foot well. (RHD). It is possible to access it by peeling back the carpet which is made easier by removing the plastic panel. The switch just needs to be pushed in to reset it.
Just realised we're talking about an xf, I had a brain fart and was talking about an XJ (x300). Sorry.
