Default Need some Help removing engine junction box

Hello! New to the Forum and need some help

I have a 2011 XF 5.0. I need to replace the front Strut mounts and Upper front control arms on both sides of the car. I already completed the Driver side but I am running into a small issue on the Passenger side. The Engine Junction Box is covering the nuts/bolts I need to get to. I am going through the workshop manual and it just shows to remove three bolts and set the box aside. Well the box has all the wire running into it and it wont move more than and inch or so. I dont see and harness disconnect either. Any help removing the junction box would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Leo

Did you ever get this worked out? I am trying to do my control arms as well and had the same issue. Removed the bolts from the junction box and it wouldn't lift more than an inch because of the wiring harness. Also can't figure out how to get to the front bolt of the control arm. Did you give up and take it some where, else any tips?

I'm in the same boat - bolts removed, but the box only moves an inch or so - anyone figure this one out?

You have to manhandle it and either zip tie or bungee it out of the way the best you can. My need a wrench for one of the shock nuts. Don't overthink it. Wont hurt the harness if you pull a little.

Thanks for the tip - I'll give it a go!
(Actually have to replace the junction box and repair some of the wires underneath)
