Hello, all!

I just purchased a '10 XF Base over the weekend. Actually traded in an '04 XJ8 towards it. Loved my XJ8 but it needed lots of work. Funny how I could afford to buy a newer car but couldn't scrape together the >$6K to get the old one fixed.

Anyway, I've spent the weekend getting to know the XF. Very sweet ride. A little bumpier than the air-shock heaven of the XJ8, but I'm not complaining.
And, I'm a "gadget nut" and this thing is a "gadget nuts'" dream!

I'll post pictures in a bit...

Good to hear from you.

As an owner of a "classic" Jag, I would be interested in your impressions of this new incarnation of the Jaguar marque.

I have, like you, a 2010 XF Premium which I purchased after being a BMW owner for many years (I owned 12 of them over 20 years). The harder ride is more in line with the sporting pretensions of the XF and is, therefore, more in line with my expectations. As an expat Brit, I was somewhat wary of Jags since they had had a suspect reliability record when I lived in the UK. However this XF has been very good and better than the last 2 BMWs I owned.

I hope you enjoy the car as much as I do.

I also just purchased a 2010 Premium about two weeks ago - so far terrific car - with the exception of the radio - they were able to fix the FM / AM reception problem, but now it loses presets on the satellite stations which I understand has been a problem for many. Other than the radio issues, this is one great car a lot of fun to drive and a lot more car for the money than my last to Mercedes.

There is a specific service bulletin for this problem. Get it done and you will not have that issue again.

Just realized, from reading more on edmunds.com, that I have the XF Base model, with all the option packages installed. Sorry

Well, when I pulled in to the driveway Saturday, my neighbor asked me if I had traded my Jag for a Lexus. That's about the only thing I can think of to say about the XF, from a styling point of view. It doesn't look particularly "Jaguar-y". And, when my wife's sister saw pictures of it, she said it was about time I got rid of the "old lady car". That said, I do like the look, very modern looking.

From a ride/drive point of view, no complaints, but the previously mentioned observation: The ride is a bit stiffer than the air shock heaven that is the XJ8. However, it's not like riding in an old pickup truck or something. Just took some getting used to.

I'm very happy with my decision to swap. I believe the reliability of Jaguar has improved vastly, thanks to Ford's influence.

As an aside, thanks to the cold front currently sweeping through the region, I've lost access to the XF, due to my wife discovering the heated seats.
